One of the most popular is marble mirroring finish. What is it? It’s a powered metallic color pigments are special effect pigments composed of mica nano-particles coated with various organic and inorganic pigments to create pearlescent and iridescent effects that mimic the natural look of stone. When the metallic particles are mixed with epoxy they give the coating a shine that reflects light and creates and eye-catching dramatic color.
How it work?
The short version: basically we grind the floor with a diamond grinder. This gives a necessary profile for adhesion. In extreme cases we'll shot blast or scarify the surface. Next we fill in holes and crakes with a special paste epoxy filler.
Then we apply the first primer coat. (unless you have a problems with moisture coming up from your concrete. That will require a moisture barrier coat!) The primer coat is almost always a dark based expoy it serve as a canvas for the translucent metallic coat. It is important to note that the color of the basecoat will influence the overall appearance of the floor since the metallic coat is translucent. Once the primer is dry the metallic pigment coat can be applied and we let it flow onto the concrete. The top coat adds the enhanced durability, smooth texture and/or a semi-gloss or matte finish on your floor.
